La Taína was born from my Caribbean roots and a desire to share—through food—the values ​​that define us: family, hospitality, community, generosity, and togetherness.

My love for cooking began when my children were born. That was when I started cooking more, exploring new flavors, and preparing meals for my family using fresh, natural ingredients. Over time, I developed a traditional seasoning blend known in the Caribbean as *sofrito*, made with cilantro, garlic, onion, and aromatic herbs. This blend forms the foundation of many of our dishes and represents a tradition passed down through generations.

In 2025, the idea of ​​sharing that flavor with others took shape. I often heard people say how much they enjoyed my cooking, and I realized I wanted to create something bigger: a brand that would represent our culture, our roots, and our way of sharing with others.

The name La Taína is inspired by the Taíno people—the indigenous inhabitants of much of the Caribbean—who are known for their values ​​of community, nobility, and a deep connection to family and the land. It also draws inspiration from Taíno women and from Anacaona, one of the most renowned leaders in our history, remembered for her courage, intelligence, strength, and love for her people. As a woman, a mother, and an entrepreneur, I deeply identify with those values ​​and with the desire to serve, support, and bring people together.

Today, La Taína is a celebration of our Caribbean heritage and an invitation to share moments around the table, because we believe that flavor, hospitality, and food have the power to unite people and create memories that stay in our hearts.
